I have been delivering dramatherapy within an educational setting since 2018. The sessions can be done one to one or in small groups between four and eight participants. The sessions can fit into a students timetable and it has often been found that one hour out of class in a dramatherapy session can greatly improve the rest of the time in school and the classroom.
I work closely with teachers and any other associated professionals to deliver the most beneficial sessions for the student.
The therapeutic boundaries of confidentiality still apply but I recognise the benefit of working closely as a team around a student and so sharing of general issues and information is of great benefit.
I can offer:
An original assessment
Meeting with parents and associated professionals
Short or a long term intervention
End of therapy assessment report and recommendations
Dramatherapy in schools can help with:
Anxiety, bullying, concentration, social anxieties, help with school transitions, bereavement, anger management and more.
Funding:
There are many different options for funding, there can be extra support within an EHCP, if the school has a separate fund for their pastoral care or the potential of privately funded sessions. Get in contact for further discussions.
I am based in the North London area.
